The Evolution of A Story
So right now “Now Lovers” is forming in my mind.
Like, I want to haul off and get it done pronto but I can’t.
You see, the start of the story is everything. I wanted to start “Now Lovers” on the day after “Once Friends” ends. I started writing from that point in the story and thought…nah. There’s really nowhere exciting to go if I start from here.
Then I tried two weeks into production, and realized this is not a story about the shenanigans that go on while making a film.
I took a few days to let my mind go down a multitude paths in the background while the foreground worked on other projects. And golly George, I think I have it!
So today, I’ll start at word one yet again.
As far as “Once Friends,” it’s going through the second round of proofs. Yay! For those of you who read my last post, I do apologize for those whacked out dates. I have no idea what happened with the numbers. That was crazy. I actually wrote the years as 2016 and one 2015. Yikes!
So, Once Friends will be released on March 27, 2018. I’ll write it again to make sure it’s correct–March 27, 2018. If it doesn’t say that date after I publish this post, then I need to contact my host site and security company. I mean, those dates were so off on my last post. Wow. I can’t believe I wrote them!
Now Lovers will be released on or around May 15, 2018.
And an FYI, you’ll be hearing a lot more from me in March. It’s been a while since I’ve written a LOVE in the USA novel. Before and after finishing “Adore Her, More of Her,” I put it out there that the series was over. The stories about the Lords and those closely associate with them are mostly over. There’s some crossover in the new books. Vincent Adams makes an appearance in “Once Friends,” and Dexter Frampton is part of the story. Remember Dexter from “Know Her, Love Her” and “Adore Her, More of Her?” He’ll factor in greatly in the stories regarding the Hesters. Belmont’s name also comes up “Once Friends,” and so does Daisy’s.
I’ll have a first chapter excerpt of “Once Friends” posted as soon as the manuscript clears another round of proofing. And one more thing, I’ll be reaching out to my first list of ARC readers, who were interested in the LOVE in the USA series. My artistic brain led me down far too many roads–The Sexy Series (which is now Her Perfect Man Contemporary Romance Series) and The Sterlings. But I’ll be in LOVE in the USA only until all the Hester women get their stories told. 🙂 And I promise you this–you’re going to love these women.
One day I’m going to write a post about what writing romance has taught me as a woman and a human being in general. I almost abandoned the genre because the unhealthy nature of it but I think I’ve found my brand of romance and what I write is well with my soul.
Thanks for reading thus far! If it’s cold where you are, then stay warm and cozy. It’s freezing here! And it snowed yesterday. Let me tell you, Southern Californians are at their happiest when it snows! It’s so cute to watch all the smiles and giddiness. 🙂
I’ll be back soon!
