Know Her, Love Her (Daisy & Belmont, Book ONE) – Updates

So yep–I’ve started the outlining and conceptualizing for the 4th book in the LOVE in the USA series! I know, I know, I know… It’s  coming earlier than I originally planned but I’m in too deep to stop now. And so, at the moment I’m writing two books–this one and the next Parched Novel (I’m still not sold on the title for the Parched novel). I promise  you the quality of both stories will not be affected. I just have to wrap up Daisy and Belmont’s story in a satisfying manner. Yes, they met, had a sexual and soulful connection but why did fate believe they belong together forever? I believe both of them had some issues that needed to be resolved to be happy and health adults when they first met. This next story is about how they resolve them together and now that they have a child, there’s no escaping each other in the process… Anyway…  🙂 . And so…

As of 7/11/2014

Actually, as of last night Know Her, Love Her (Daisy & Belmont, Book ONE) is off to the editor! My scheduled date is 7/14/2014, which means I finished early! My kind of finished is writing the first half of the book and then going back to re-read/tighten, writing the second half and then going back to re-read/tighten that part, and finally, reading from the beginning using text to speech so that I can hear how it all sounds and fixing the prose along the way. None of it takes just a little time, especially when I get to the parts where I’m like, “what in the world am I trying to say?” Or when I’m like (eye-roll), “okay, enough already end it,” and so I have to delete paragraphs. Oh, or I’m like, “didn’t I already say this a page ago?”

Anyway… I’m writing Still In Love With Her (Maggie & Vince, Book ONE). I’ve already started it actually and so now I must finish it.  You’ll kind of get a birds-eye view of the conflict in this book in Know Her, Love Her.

My life shall be CONSUMED by writing….

As of 7/1/2014

Ho finito il libro, Know Her, Love Her (Daisy & Belmont, Book ONE)!!!! I have finished the book! I’m off to write the next book, starting as soon as I wake up, do this, do that… eat… la la la… then write. 🙂

Oh, and I have a while before it goes to the editor on July 14th… 🙂

As of 5/24/2014

I really LOVE writing this series. I’m almost done writing Chapter 1. I had to stop at a certain part last night so that I can sleep, eat and reboot.

Anyway… I have all four wheels on the road and driving earlier than usual. If I finish this book a month ahead of time then I’m going to write a surprise story 😉 I think I ‘ll start the Manhattan series. The story will feature Maggie and Vince. I think this is plausible.

OK. Need coffee. I’m partial to this coffee shop on the ground floor of the building next door. They make EXCELLENT coffee…

So just wanted to update you. If you’re waiting for more LOVE in the USA, then get ready! 🙂

As of 5/2/2014

I am deep into the outline phase and I LOVE how the story is shaking out! I really think you’re going to love it! Look for my customary first chapter done update within the next couple of weeks. This story is taking off in my head and I’m ready to write it!

Until next time!

FYI, I pushed back the release date to September 4th just in case I’m unable to make the June 9th editing date. The next editing date would be August 4th. The thing is, I’m going to be mega busy in the next three months trying to finish Forget Me Never before April 28th and yes–moving. This time it’ll be a SHORT lease.

Okay. I’ll let you know when I get started, and you never know, I just might make the June 9th edit date but I’m not going to sacrifice the story to meet the deadline. ‘ll post the description with the iTunes pre-order announcement.

Peace.

I finally have an official release date! It’s August 1, 2014 (it may be released earlier). It goes to the editor on June 9th, which is only a month and half after Forget Me Never, A Parched Novel goes in for editing. But don’t worry, the story will not be rushed as I’m outlining and writing the early chapters along with Forget Me Never. I have to work within the constraints of the dates that I’m able to book with my favorite editor. So basically, I’ll be writing like CRAZY for the next three months! Which is why I must close this post down and get back to work.

Peace.

As of 1/24/2014

I’m in the conceptualization and outlining phase. I’m spending time with the characters in my head and capturing the story and writing during the second part of my work day. This means, I’ll have to spend less time roaming the internet during periods where I have to recoup the brain. And let me say, that some of the searches that turn up on my data for this website scare the heck out of me. I mean, really, someone’s trying to find my address????? The search: Address for Z.L. Arkadie. Listen, that’s the fastest way to frighten a writer, especially someone like me, who writes stuff that traditionalists revile. Because that’s art baby 🙂 Anyway…  Yeah. Whomever you are, please stop looking for my address, that’s weird.

And now back to work.

I loved daisy and Belmont story. I believe people can just meet and I such a strong pull and bond that you can’t stand to be away from the. Especially if they make you feel things that you never felt with anybody else

I think I’m in love with Charlie! He is my favorite of the cousins! He is so misunderstood, yet he sees his way through, all on his own. Despite Monroe’s shenanigans. You create some of the most wonderful characters. Thanks Z!
I’ll get in the dreaded zon and leave my thoughts later this weekend. 🙂
    Talk soon, Vic

    • Z.L Arkadie

LOL!!! Oh, yes, the dreaded Zon… LOL! Thanks, Vic. I always look forward to your insight on the characters. You always let me know if I managed to convey what I wanted to convey. It’s very hard for close family members to see changes in a person–and so, that’s why an individual has to really believe in themselves. Also those that are just getting to know us can really tell us who we really are because they don’t who we were in the past… (I’m babbling…) LOL! Thanks again for stopping! Talk soon! Z

    • victoriawarren

Yes! I agree whole heartedly! I think that’s why I prefer my “newer” friends, you include. You see who I am now. Not who I was 20 years ago. I am not that person anymore. Even though some might want me to be.
It’s our life experience that molds us. Our childhood only plays a part. 🙂
Gah, its too late for all this wisdom! And not enough wine for all my deep BS. LOL Your welcome. 🙂 Vic

    • Z.L Arkadie

LOLOLOL!!! But–You hit the nail right on the head! 🙂 OMG–try growing up in a family FULL of strong CHURCH women, who are stagnate as heck… Yes. It’s too late.. LOL! Have a wonderful night! Z

So…I know this is random. Thats just who I am. But, do you remember way back when you were reading Jack Kerouac? Well, after reading that entry, I put it in my TBR list in my kindle and downloaded the sample just to check it out. Since then I’ve been telling myself I need to read it. But like so many things, I never got around to it. Well, I was cleaning and re arranging my living room and low and behold there is a copy of On The Road sitting on the book shelf. I actually laughed out loud and thought of you. 🙂 I think one of the kids brought it home and snuck it in there! Haha! So I guess, like cream, it has risen to the top of the endless books on my TBR list! I hope it tastes as good!

    Just thought I’d share. 🙂
    Have a great week Z!
    Vic

    • Z.L Arkadie

Hi Vic! That’s so funny 🙂 Let me know if you’re able to get through it; I gave up on it a long time ago. It’s just not my thing. Good to hear from you! Hope all is well. Oh, I have plans to travel to Chicago next month and check it out for a few days. I’ll send you an email to let you know when. Talk soon! Have a wonderful week as well! Z 🙂

    • victoriawarren

I actually just sat down and started it. I gotta tell you its slow going. I will try to muddle through. Lol. Yes! That would be awesome! Chicago is coooold right now, so pack your parka and winter boots! Seriously. You just made my day! I am look forward to your email. 🙂
      Thanks! Vic

    • Z.L Arkadie

Well if you find that bright spot of hope, let me know… Only then will I give it another go 🙂 I know. I heard. I saw. I love the cold as long as I’m inside bundled up, sipping tea and coffee and writing the hours away… 🙂 But I tried to schedule my trip to where the weather is normally tolerable. Hopefully climate change doesn’t disrupt my strategy 🙂 Talk soon! Z

    • victoriawarren

I will, if I do. I don’t love the cold at all, ever! I do try to stay inside this time of year. And, I’m seriously looking for warmer climates to inhabit! They have some grad schools in TX and one I am really looking at in NC. No joke! :/ Although, I think its cold everywhere right now. Oh well…
      Talk later, Vic

    • Z.L Arkadie

Oh, the owner of the editing company that I use, Red Adept Publishing, lives in North Carolina and she swears by the weather. She said it’s warm most of the year and when it’s cold it’s tolerable. It’s 61 degrees here today and there’s a little wind. That’s enough to turn native Californians into Popsicles 🙂 I forgot you were enrolling in grad school! So excited for you. Oh, and it’s 80 degrees in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. How is that even possible???? LOL! 🙂 Later, Z

    • victoriawarren

See, I knew I was on the right track with North Carolina! :). You don’t even want to know what I would give for 61 degrees! It’s a balmy 9 degrees today! Snow storm to follow on Wednesday. I may cry! I need warm sun on my face! I have Honolulu weather on my phone to see how the Ohanas weather is. Its usually sunny and 80 degrees! Why am I still in Indiana?! I think it has something ti do with my ginger faced husband.
Still going to try the GRE! I think I’ve lost mind! Not sure how I feel about it. That will be the deciding factor between an Nurse Anesthetist and an MBA. I wonder if they’ll dummy down that GRE for a mathematically challenged girl? Lol.
      Later, Vic

    • Z.L Arkadie

LOL!!! I know… I’m trying to suck it up and be thankful. I had a “friend” who was Irish and he used to always complain about burning in the sun. I’m thinking North Carolina may be your happy medium. The climates are kind of mild here too in cities along the coast in San Diego county as well. And San Diego is very Mid-westernish, except it’s on Botox… Like, the Midwest on Botox. It’s were you see size zero men and women working out so much that they look like they have one foot in the grave. It’s crazy… Nurse Anesthetist and MBA are like on two totally different planets! I always say, if you’re truly ready for it, then pick the one that scares you the most because that’s when you discover who you really are. 🙂 I’m so excited for you! Yeah, know… I had to take the GRE twice because of the math… Grrr…. Just study the guide and you should do fine. That’s what helped me 🙂

    • victoriawarren

Yeah, he says that. In fact, when we were in Alaska as newlyweds, he got in a little trouble at work(Army) for using the tanning bed and burning. Oops! I thought North Carolina was a happy medium too! My brother spent some time in San Diego and loved it. But who wants to work out that much! Not I! And thanks goodness botox is not my thing. Haha!
I know, its like two different worlds. Anesthesia is my first choice, which IS the one that scares me the most. MBA is my second choice, but there is a lot of opportunity in the orthopedic industry around here, they travel a lot! 🙂 Thanks for the encouragement with the GRE. I will need it, and a lot of prayer!

    • Z.L Arkadie

Yeah, San Diego is VERY different from LA County. Very different. I didn’t mean that they all Botox. LOL! I meant that as a region (for lack of a better word at the moment) they are very much into how things look and not how they truly are. Like the places that make the best coffee many not be frequented more than the place that has the best crowd. And there’s this restaurant right of Carlsbad Village Drive that’s just TERRIBLE… I mean TERRIBLE. Ugh. But it is EXTREMELY popular because it has nice patio seating and appealing decor. But that’s Carlsbad. In LA, it doesn’t matter how appealing a place is or who frequents it, if food tastes bad, nobody’s going back twice. So they’re just not that deep. It’s all superficial as is the culture. That’s all… 🙂 Well you know what? A girl always has permission to change her mind! If you don’t like one course of study, then change to other–that’s what I did! LOL! Even in grad school! Sending you good vibes, good luck and many prayers on your GRE. I so get it… I hated taking that test. Hated it. Z

    • victoriawarren

I get it! I don’t think Jeff would last two seconds there! Lol I am trying to picture it…nope! Haha! Let me tell ya, if the food is bad, you won’t see me again! 😉 I know what you mean about changing your mind. I thought I was going to be a midwife once upon a time! Boy you couldn’t pay me enough to do that now! Babies are all good, its the bitchy women I can’t deal with! And I don’t want to spend all my time with my hand in someone’s nether reigions! Just sayin! Lol And I already hate that G!R!E!!! But I can feel all those good vibes already! Thanks! Vic

    • Z.L Arkadie

LOL!!! Most people love this area and don’t even notice all the stuff that irritates the heck out of ME! Which is usually the case. LOL!!! I’ve become very aware of that over the years. Oh well, it is what it is… 🙂 Laughing my head off about the mid-wife thing. LOL!!! Yeah, I think it’s always good to avoid a woman that’s supped up on a full tank of hormones… 😉 LOL!!!

Yay on feeling the good vibes 🙂 You’re very welcome! Z

I just read “There’s something About her” finished it all this evening, last Friday I completed- “Find her Keep her”. I must say you make it easy to fall for your books. I’ve never read a book and felt like the Characters reminded me of myself or people very close in my life. Every last one of them come to life for me. I love Jack! So relatable, I wish he was my big Cousin, lol. And, I’m rooting for Charlie- and I’ve pre ordered your next book as well. You have me hooked, Ms. Arkadie! Please keep them coming.

    Sincerely A New Fan
