First or Third POV for Taming The Shrewd? I’m Answering That Question.

I’ve been writing Taming The Shrewd for the last two weeks, I kid you not, and I’m only a measly 4k words in. Truthfully, I should at least be close to 40k words by now. I feel something’s off about my writing these days. First of all, I’m not burned out at all. I want to hurry and finish the books in the Hester series so that I can get to my next big project in the LOVE in the USA series. Ooh, I can’t wait to share it with you. But I also want to hurry up and saturate myself completely into the Hester world. It’s like a chore…

    What Is Porn?

So I’ve been writing romance for a while now–gosh going on seven years–and one thing I’ve heard continuously is readers calling sex in my books and others porn. Now, I don’t know about others, because a LOT of those books are porn but no for the reasons believed, but I do know about my stories. So what’s porn? I truly never knew the answer to this question until I forced myself to sit through a couple of videos/DVD’s. Also, I got to know a few porn addicts as well. So here’s the short of what I learned–porn is about POWER. Period. Not about intimacy or pleasure but POWER. In a man’s…

    The Evolution of A Story

So right now “Now Lovers” is forming in my mind. Like, I want to haul off and get it done pronto but I can’t. You see, the start of the story is everything.  I wanted to start “Now Lovers” on the day after “Once Friends” ends. I started writing from that point in the story and thought…nah. There’s really nowhere exciting to go if I start from here. Then I tried two weeks into production, and realized this is not a story about the shenanigans that go on while making a film. I took a few days to let my mind go down a multitude paths in the background while…

    New Year Plans!

And I’ll say it again, Happy New Year! I truly hope we as citizens and cohabitants of this planet can figure out how to get closer to being kinder to one another this year. As a matter of fact at the end of last year I made a pact with myself. I decided to live brave, which will allow me to always be kind, hopeful and faithful. 2018 will be the first full year that I live out those tenets. It takes a lot of work of course–a lot of humility and empathy, and I’m curious to see how I fair by the end of 2018. But being brave is…

    The Biggest Delete In History!

Well, I’ve just deleted every word in Once Friends, A Hollywood Love Story that I had written thus far. That was 33k+ words.  Gosh, I’m so happy I have the time to recover from what I had just done. I moved my editing date to January 31, 2018 for this book and release date to March 6, 2018. What happened? I think what happened was I pulled the story out of my file cabinet so to speak. It was something I had written in screenplay format years ago as a TV series. And just like then, I had too many elements going on and the whole story got away from…
