    Novels–You Are Now Free:The Independent Movement!

    Here’s the thing. I’ve been trying to figure out how to put this in words. See. You don’t understand the significance of the fact that you’re able to read my books, and those of your other favorite indie authors. I was watching yesterday’s episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter.     The PRESSURE of being on Vacation…

    So today my two week vacation starts–and I have a TON of things to get done… BUT–I’ve decided to go with the flow, no pressure…All I know is the end result and that I’m giving it my ALL to make it happen… This morning I decided to take a fresh look at a women’s/literary fiction novel that I’ve been querying for a while–two agents have had the full for a number of months… My goal was to read through it once again before I contact those agents with a, “hey, I’m not sure if you received my manuscript, so here’s another copy,” follow up.     PLOT, PLOt, PLot, Plot…plot…

    I read somewhere that plot is the last thing a writer learns…And the hardest. You know like those old Chinese films–Kungfu Theater–how many of us are old enough to remember that???? BTW–I used to LOVE it! So–in some storylines the hero has all the goods but needs to take the journey to reach the pinnacle of his ability to prepare for the fight of his life… While off training he pushes his body to the extreme and his mind to new heights–he conquers his weaknesses and acquires new strengths… The Journey… I credit an Esquire editor for sending me on that journey back in 2000 or 2001….
